In 2014, the Wedge Tailed Eagle series of coins hit the market. This was the first year of issue and since then they have become quite popular. This 2014 silver Wedge Tailed Eagle was struck at the Perth Mint in Australia. It weighs 1 Troy oz. and is made of .999 fine silver. While several varieties of the silver Wedge Tailed Eagle were struck in 2014, all of them had mintage limits. This is great news for any collector. One of the interesting things about the 2014 Australia 1 oz. silver Wedge Tailed Eagle is that the design was created by John Mercanti. The opposite side of the coin shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
